Week Seven

Posted in Godly woman, Weekly Assignments, proverbs at 4:39 pm by Tanya

Hi, everyone! I apologize but I have had no time to do the study for this past week (week six)… We are moving this weekend and the hours this week have been spent packing and preparing the house to move into, etc.. Due to the lack of time that I have had for this study, I thought that we could do something a bit different for Week Seven’s lesson. There will only be three questions.

1. Read Chapter Seven in “Beautiful In God’s Eyes” and write about something that stood out to you about the lesson. Something that convicted you of an area you need to work on or something that encouraged you.

2. What is something that God is teaching you in your life right now? What is an area that you see Him growing you in? This doesn’t necessarily have to relate to the book but it can.

3. What is something that you have found encouraging lately (an event, something you read, something someone said, an answered prayer – whatever!)?

I hope that you each have a blessed week and look forward to hearing from you!

I like how it seems to be this woman’s mission to find beautiful creative things ( not over priced but good value) to decorate her home with and to use at home, and how creating her home atmosphere is so important. It just seems fun to me :) . It also makes life back then seem a little more fun instead of just work and barely making ends meet. Although, from proverbs 31 it’s pretty obvious that they do a little better than just making ends meet. because of thier wise living. This chapter has encouraged me to be creative in how I buy things ( or even barter for things, which I hadn’t thought of) for my home or for getting things done.

One of the things that I have been impressed with lately is how important it is to know what the bible says and to make sure I have a correct understanding of it. It is important to know theological things and deeper things in scripture!! I know in church lately the pastor has said this, and I know I have been in a few situations with other people where ( reletives in this case) where I’ve seen people who have had weak teaching fall into deceptive thinking easily because of not having been well grounded. I know from my own experice how its easy to believe something false if I’m not alert or well grounded. It’s so imnportant to be in the word and be under good biblical teaching!! I don’t study the bible as much as I should and it kinda scares me. So this is motivation to do so.

This book has been encouraging to me! It’s been like a path to follow that will help me get to being a better wife. I want to be a good wife and so it’s just encouraging to read specific ways to make it happen. It is just wonderful how God blesses us with so many good things! Like good books, or even other good things like friends or fun events. All good things come from God!!

I really liked this chapter a lot. I thought it was really inspiring, especially because of the house we just bought. My mind is full lately of ideas for money-saving ways to decorate. The house is quite the mess right now with unpacked boxes everywhere and I’m just itching to get them unpacked and make the house a home. I love decorating and making a comfortable atmosphere though I know that I have a lot to learn about it. I enjoy reading magainzes about decorating and crafty ideas so it was neat to see how all this plays into being a Proverbs 31 woman.

I thought it was encouraging, too, to think that making the house comfortable and inviting and beautiful is a way that I can make life less monotonous and brigher for my husband and others who come into my house. It can be a bright spot that is refreshing and restful from the hectic world. So, really, me putting the time and energy and thought into making the house beautiful is a way I can show love to those who enter it. It’s something that might be taken for granted or not even noticed, but it is a quiet way to love and serve!

I’ve been learning a lot about contentment. In the move and the work that is being done to the house and the clutter, I am given a lot of opportunities to decide to be satisfied with the way things are. Tim has a lot going on and a lot of the work hinges on him. Being content is being satisfied with where God has me *For As Long As He Has Me There*. So, as irritating as the living conditions may be to me right now, I just need to rest in the Lord and thank Him for this opportunity to rely on His grace in dealing with the upheavel. And I can do this by not nagging my dear man in all that I would like him to be able to do in time that would rival “the flash” (for those of you who remember that show). :-)

    3. What is something that you have found encouraging lately (an event, something you read, something someone said, an answered prayer – whatever!)?

This past weekend was our first wedding anniversary and the Lord provided for us to be able to get out of town for the weekend – just the two of us, away from the hecticness of life, from the house, etc. We spent the weekend just relaxing in each other’s company and enjoying each other. It was so refreshing and really showed how busy and crazy our lives have been in How refreshing it was! I am so greatful for the little break and being able to come back refreshed and refocused to face every day life. And so thankful for the blessing the past year has been! How good God is in His gifts to us underserving children!
